About Module 6 — Ifa in the Modern World

Module 6 of Ifa Wisdom is the closing of the curriculum — and perhaps the most urgent. In previous modules, you studied the tradition as a system: the philosophy, the Odus, the Orixas, the Itans, and the Ebo. Now it is time to ask: how did this ancient tradition reach us? How did it survive slavery, colonization, and globalization? And how should it be practiced and studied in the digital context of the 21st century?

Each lesson addresses a dimension of contemporary Ifa: the journey of the African diaspora (how Ifa traveled from Ile-Ife to Brazil, Cuba, Haiti, and the USA), the phenomenon of syncretism (why Xango became Saint Jerome and Iemanja became Our Lady), the ethical challenges of digital study (what the internet can and cannot transmit), and the practical application of Yoruba wisdom in modern everyday life.

After this module — and the complete curriculum — you will have a systemic understanding of the Ifa tradition: from philosophical roots to contemporary practice. You will not be a Babalawo (that requires initiation), but you will be an informed, respectful student capable of engaging with the tradition with genuine depth. The journey continues — use the Oracle, read the blog, and remember: Ifa is a living tradition that renews itself with every consultation.
