Learning Path

Our path was designed to offer a solid and respectful foundation. Each lesson ends with a short quiz to reinforce knowledge and earn Asé.

Our learning curriculum is organized in progressive modules, designed to take you from the fundamentals of Yoruba philosophy to understanding the 256 Odus of the Ifá Oracle. Each lesson includes explanatory text, quizzes to consolidate knowledge, and XP and Asé rewards that activate your gamification system. We start with Module 1 (Fundamentals: Ifá, Orí, the 16 Orishas, Odus as moral maps, blessing and challenge) and advance to Module 2 (Mejis, Omolu-Odus, the Opele, and ethics of practice). You will learn in a short time how to navigate the 256 paths of the Oracle with respect and depth.

Questions About Learning

Do I need prior knowledge of Ifá or Yoruba?+
No. Module 1 starts from scratch — assumes you have never heard of Ifá, Orishas, or Yoruba. Every term is explained with cultural and philosophical depth the first time it appears.
How long does it take to complete both modules?+
On average 6-8 hours, depending on your pace. Each lesson is 30-45 minutes of reflective reading. We recommend one lesson per day for proper absorption.
What do I gain from completing a lesson?+
You earn XP (to level up: Aleyo → Abọṣẹ → Ọmọ Ifá → Babalawo) and Asé (currency to exchange for contextual consultations). Plus badges for each completed module.
Does this replace an actual initiation?+
No. This is philosophical and cultural education, not spiritual initiation. Traditional initiation (Bori, Kariocha, Itefa) can only be done by a Babalawo or Iyalorisa in a physical temple with rituals that cannot be replicated digitally.
