Blog

The Ifá Wisdom blog is our editorial space dedicated to Yoruba philosophy and the oracular system of Ifá. Here we publish in-depth articles on the 16 main Orishas, the 256 Odus of the Oracle, rituals, traditional stories (Itan), sacred songs (Orin), and the relationship between Yoruba spirituality and the modern world. Every article is written with absolute respect for the ancestral tradition — no sensationalism, no cultural appropriation, always with authentic references. We publish weekly, prioritizing content that helps readers understand the philosophical, ethical, and symbolic depth of this millennia-old tradition. Browse the categories — Orishas, Philosophy, Practice, Culture, and Guide — to find the topic that interests you.

About the Blog

How often are new articles published?+
We publish at least one new article per week, typically on Sundays. Deep-dive articles on major Orishas and Odus are released in phases, each taking weeks of research to honor the tradition.
Who writes the articles?+
The Ifá Wisdom editorial team, in collaboration with practitioners of the Yoruba tradition (Candomblé, Umbanda, Santería, and Nigerian Ifá) when possible. Every article is cross-verified with academic and oral sources before publication.
Can I suggest topics or contribute?+
Yes, we love suggestions. Reach out through the Contact page with topics you would like to see explored. If you are an initiate of the tradition and want to collaborate editorially, describe your background and we will happily talk.
Are articles available in all 4 languages?+
Yes. Each article is translated into Portuguese, English, Spanish, and German. Some culturally sensitive pieces may be adaptations rather than literal translations, to preserve the deeper meaning of Yoruba terms.
