1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using Ifá Wisdom in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use, as well as our Privacy Policy. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

2. Service Description

Ifá Wisdom is an educational and contemplative platform that combines ancestral Yoruba wisdom with modern technology. We offer: (a) A consultation library on the 256 Odus of Ifá; (b) A pedagogical simulation of the Opele cast with AI-assisted interpretation; (c) Structured learning modules on Yoruba philosophy; (d) A personal diary of spiritual consultations; (e) Educational content about the Orixás. The service is provided 'as is' and may be changed or discontinued at any time.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must create an account by providing accurate and complete information. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

AI-generated content on Ifá Wisdom is provided exclusively for educational, philosophical, and personal-reflection purposes. It does NOT constitute medical, psychological, legal, financial, or professional spiritual advice. Interpretations of the Odus are based on traditional texts and do not replace an in-person consultation with a qualified Babalawo or Iyanifa. We are not responsible for decisions made based on the platform's interpretations.

6. Intellectual Property

Ifá Wisdom holds all intellectual property rights related to the platform, including design, code, brand, and original content. AI-generated content from your consultations is provided for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of the platform's content without express authorization. The traditional texts of the Ese Ifá belong to the Yoruba cultural domain and are presented with respect to their origin.

7. Payments and Refunds

Premium subscriptions and one-off consultations are processed by Stripe. Prices are shown in USD and may be subject to taxes depending on your location.

Right of withdrawal (Brazil — CDC Art. 49): Brazilian consumers may withdraw from any purchase (Premium subscription or one-off consultation) within 7 calendar days of payment, without needing to justify, and receive a full refund. To exercise this right, simply send a message through the Contact page with the account email — the refund is processed via Stripe within 5 business days.

Right of withdrawal (EU/UK — GDPR / Directive 2011/83/EU): Consumers in the European Union and the United Kingdom have an equivalent 14-day right. The same refund conditions apply.

Digital content: by starting a consultation within the withdrawal period you expressly acknowledge and consent to the immediate performance of the digital service (Decreto 7.962/13 Art. 5 in Brazil). Despite this, we honour full refunds during the 7/14-day window in good faith, except in manifestly abusive cases. Cancellations after the withdrawal period follow the subscription calendar — you can cancel via the Stripe Portal and keep access through the end of the period already paid, with no prorated refund.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ifá Wisdom shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the service. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of data, lost profits, or reputational damage. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months.

9. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time through the profile settings. After termination, you will lose access to Premium content and your consultation history. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, without prior notice in cases of serious violation. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible.

10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of Portugal. Any dispute will first be addressed amicably. If that is not possible, both parties agree to submit the dispute to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Portugal. **For users residing in Brazil**, the protections of the Brazilian Consumer Defense Code (Law 8.078/90) and the General Data Protection Law — LGPD (Law 13.709/18) also apply; in case of conflict between legislations, the Brazilian consumer protections prevail for Brazilian consumers, and jurisdiction may be that of the user's domicile under Art. 101 of the CDC.

13. User-Generated Content and Reporting Procedure

The platform allows authenticated users to post comments on blog articles. Each user is responsible for the content they post and retains all rights to that content, granting Ifá Wisdom a non-exclusive license to display it on the platform.

Reporting inappropriate content: if you believe a comment violates these terms, contains defamation, hate speech, illegal content, third-party personal data, or religious intolerance, use the "Report" button next to each comment, or contact us via the Contact page.

Review commitment: we review every report within 48 business hours. Content that violates the Terms of Use or applicable legislation is removed without prior notice.

Author right: users may delete their own comments at any time using the "Delete" button next to their own comments, without justification.

11. Changes to the Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Significant changes will be notified by email or by notice on the platform with at least 15 days' advance warning. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
