Ifá Wisdom is now in French too
- Since 11 October the site is also in French: the home page, the 256 Odu pages, the Orishas, the course, the glossary, the Studies and every blog post. Pick FR in the language selector at the top of the page.
- The French translations are made with AI assistance and reviewed sentence by sentence by a second agent, with the same glossary and the same works and pages as the Portuguese; every French page carries that notice. The consultation, the login and the dashboard stay in English for now. Spotted a mistake? Write to us through the contact page.

The Orunmila Study, the Yewa post, three guides and the glossary
- Friday: the Study of Orunmila, the owner of Ifá — the first poem collected by Abímbọ́lá tells how he left the Earth and put the sixteen palm nuts in his place; the Tratado shows his Cuban face. Saturday: the post on Yewa, the Orisha of mystery, with the myths gathered by Prandi. Three guides came out as well: Opele, Ikin and cowries; Ifá and Candomblé, differences and points of contact; and the 16 Odu Meji, the map of Ifá.
- New: the glossary page (/glossario) brings together the site's terms, each with its own address, and the pages of the combined Odus now cite the page of the Tratado Enciclopédico de Ifá each text comes from.
- For readers and subscribers: before an AI consultation the site now asks for your consent, and every answer has a "Report answer" button; the pricing page and the Studies notice show the archive before the price; and the Ogbe page debuts a subscriber-only layer, with patakís and commentary citing work and page. The site is now published in Portuguese, English and Spanish.

The Odi Meyi Study, the Ori post and fixes
- Friday: the Odi Meyi Study — the warrior only cunning defeated. The fourth of the sixteen major Odus was heaven's most feared fighter; three patakís from the Tratado show the fall of pride, the exile that taught humility, and the blind man and the paralysed man who only save themselves by leaning on each other.
- Saturday: the post on Ori, the spiritual head — the two great Ifa poems collected by Abimbola: Orunmila's question to the Orishas and the house of Ajala, the potter of heads, where each person chooses their own destiny.
- Fixes: the home page's "Study of the week" card no longer points to a Study not yet published, and the login form now accepts a new attempt after a failure without reloading the page.

The Oxum Study, the Ibeji post and Module 11
- Friday: the Oxum Study — The Vanity That Saves. Three patakís from Prandi's Oxum chapter show the same logic: the vanity that looks like frivolity is the instrument with which Oxum resolves what force could not — through seduction, through generosity, and through the sacrifice of her own beauty.
- Saturday: the post on Ibeji, the twin Orishas who outwitted Death — Prandi's myths about their origin, the day they tricked Death with a drum, and why September 27 links them to Cosmas and Damian.
- New in the course: Module 11 opens the premium track on the 16 Odu Meji with Eji Ogbe, the First Odu — five lessons on the sign and its seniority, the essence, the Tratado's patakís and the Lucumí name. Exclusive to subscribers.
2026-09-12
The Iwori Meyi Study and the post on syncretism
- Friday: the Iwori Meyi Study, the eldest who lost his throne — the verse Abímbọ́lá collected about prosperity that arrives late, and the Tratado's patakís about a rank lost to vanity and won back through patience.
- Saturday: the post on Afro-Brazilian syncretism — how the Orixás came to be associated with Catholic saints, and what that history says about both traditions.

All 256 Odus, complete in four languages
- Each of the 240 combined Odus now has an entry of its own, written from the Tratado Enciclopédico de Ifá and translated into English, Spanish and German. With the 16 Meji, the library covers all 256 Odus in the site's four languages.
- The 16 Meji figures follow Bascom (1969) and the Tratado; each Odu shows the name it carries in the Lucumí tradition, the drawing of its sign and, for the Meji, an illustration of its own.
- The Odu page gained a note that makes it plain: an Odu describes tendencies and possible paths, not a fixed destiny.
2026-09-06
Search across the library, sources in plain sight
- The site gained an internal search at /buscar: posts, Studies, Orixás and all 256 Odus, including by Lucumí name — "Ika Bemi" finds Ika Ogbe.
- Posts, Studies and the Orixá and Odu pages now show who wrote them, when they were last reviewed and which works were consulted — Prandi, Verger, Bascom, Abímbọ́lá.
2026-09-05
The course, reviewed against the sources
- All ten modules were reviewed against the works that hold this site up — Prandi, Verger and Abímbọ́lá — with work and page cited on claims about the tradition.
- The lessons on ritual explain the logic of rite without prescribing practice: what each case calls for belongs at the babalawo's table.
- The four premium modules went through the same review.
2026-09-05
The 20 Orisha pages, reviewed against the sources
- Every page was checked against the reference works: myths, attributes, greetings and numbers now carry the work and page where they can be verified.
- Where the sources document nothing, the page now says so — instead of filling the gap.
- The review covered all four languages.
2026-09-04
The glossary reviewed, and each Orisha's name in its own language
- The glossary was reviewed in full: 72 entries, each with the work and page where the definition can be checked, and the gaps stated in writing where no source exists.
- Name spelling now follows the language of the page: Spanish follows the Lucumí tradition of the Tratado; English and German follow Verger and Abímbọ́lá. That is why the same divinity is Yemaya in Spanish and Yemoja in English.

The contextual consultation is back — and we apologise
- For the last few weeks, until 3 September, the contextual consultation failed for subscribers and for anyone who had bought consultations: the AI provider changed a technical rule, our system kept sending an old parameter, and every request came back refused. The simple consultation kept working, which is why we were slow to notice. It was our mistake.
- We fixed it and switched AI provider, with a second one in reserve so the consultation never depends on a single vendor again. The answer now opens by addressing your question, then reads the Odu in its light. A single consultation is charged only after the answer arrives — before, a failure of ours consumed your credit.
- As an apology, every account receives 2 contextual consultations, already visible under Consult; subscribers get 50% off their next invoice, already applied. If you bought a single consultation that failed, write to us: we refund it.

The Ogum Study and the post on ẹbọ
- Friday: the Ogum Study, the force that does not know how to stop — three myths from Prandi's chapter retold in sequence, plus two variants from the same chapter that tell the first story backwards. Saturday: the post on ẹbọ — what offerings are and how they restore balance, explaining the logic without prescribing anything.

A front door for AI agents
- The site's library — Odus, Orishas, glossary, sources, Studies (teaser only) and blog — can now be read by machines: a read-only public API, an MCP server for Claude and other agents, and the For agents page explaining the rules. Every answer carries the doctrine note and the source.
- The file AI models read first (llms.txt) stopped calling the site an oracle; the blog gained an RSS feed.
2026-09-03
Odu of the Day rotates again, and can be shared
- The Odu of the Day had been stuck on the same sign; it rotates daily again and gained a share button with its own image.
2026-09-03
The site became static, honest and two-thirds lighter
- 1,422 pages are now pre-rendered — the home in 4 languages comes from the cache instead of being built on every visit. The translation catalogue embedded in each page shrank by 69%.
- The sitemap stopped announcing fake modification dates and gained 84 missing URLs. Every Study has its own social image, titles no longer repeat the brand, and blog articles are signed by a person, not an organisation.
2026-08-29
Exu and Oyekun Studies, glossary and Ossain
- The Exu Study (21/08) opens the Orisha track; the Oyekun Meyi Study (28/08) continues the Odu track. On the blog, the Yoruba glossary (22/08) and Ossain, the Orisha of leaves (29/08) — with the myths verified in Prandi, including the one about Ossain's leaves, which had been published backwards.
2026-08-22
Studies announce themselves
- Every Friday the new Study appears on its own and notifies in the bell; the daily Ase notice stopped piling up; and the newsletter no longer resends the same article when one inbox fails.
2026-08-21
Every Odu, Orisha and Study with its own social preview
- Sharing a link from the site shows the right image for that page. A 500 error page and blog errors in 4 languages; redirects for old URLs Google still visited; cookie preferences in the footer.
2026-08-18
Full liturgical review of the blog
- All 25 articles went through a complete liturgical and editorial review, in all 4 languages, with a dedicated reviewer and cross-checking between every page of the site. Where traditions diverge — Brazil, Cuba, Nigeria — the text now shows both forms and says which is which: Xangô's syncretism (Saint Jerome in Brazil, Saint Barbara in Cuba), the Cuban precept of Oxum's honey, Oyá's colors (the Cuban carmelita), Babalú-Ayé's Arará names (Asojano, Oluo Popo), and who works the oracle in each tradition.
- Rigor with sources: the itan of Ìwà now credits Wándé Abímbọ́lá, and we removed every verse or quotation that could not point to a published work — an honest gap is worth more than a beautiful paraphrase.
- The description of the Opele was unified across the site (one chain with eight seed halves), and Itefá always appears as what it is: an initiation ceremony, not a consultation.
2026-08-18
A faster, more polished site
- The pages of the 256 Odus, the blog and the Orishas are now served statically — visibly faster navigation with no occasional loading failures.
- The Ase counter updates instantly when you complete the Daily Challenge; the notification bell is more reliable; share buttons translated in all 4 languages; dates in local format across the site.
- Our Medium profile joined the footer — the blog articles are published there too.

Odu Studies and the advanced course (Modules 7-10)

2026-08-15
Verified Lucumí names and the source pages
- Over a hundred Odus gained their Cuban-tradition name (Ika Bemi, Irete Kutan…), each verified in the Tratado Enciclopédico and cited with page.
- The library search now finds Lucumí names — type "bemi" and see.
- New /fontes page: the site’s annotated bibliography, with each work’s weight.
- New /autores page: who writes, the lineage we were initiated in, and what is made by AI and what is not.
2026-08-15

- The diary now shows the question you asked in each consultation — and it is no longer written to server logs.
- You choose how long your consultations are kept, and can delete an individual one.

- New article "Xangô (Shango): Orisha of Justice, Thunder and Sacred Fire" available in all 4 languages with cover image.
- Fixed the "Listen to article" button on Android: text is now split into smaller chunks for Web Speech API compatibility, which was silently failing on long articles.
- Audio playback is seamless — listeners don't notice any transition between chunks.
