What is the Odu Ofun Owonrin
Ofun Owonrin (Ofun Funi) is the Ifá in which were born envy (Okiki Akuaosun), the iruke of Orunmilá, the secret of charcoal and ash, and the reason why ebó is made. It is a child of Obatalá, and here took place the contest between the wind and the sun. It is an Odu held to be cursed, but in which Olofin gives the power to defeat one's enemies.
Meaning
In the Tratado, the enemy curses us and with those same curses kills themselves, and it is here that resides the power of the spiritual double that is in heaven, the Enikeji Orun. It signals death by accident and is an Ifá of disillusionments, in which boldness is paid for dearly and one cannot imitate anyone, so as not to lose. The person quarrels with the elders, and a woman is their worst enemy. It tells the great secret of Obaluaê, who before being so had to die in order to be reborn.

✦ Recommendations
Imitate no one and attempt no evil against those around you, for boldness is paid for dearly. Take neither sun nor strong wind: go out after the sun has set, because the heat suffocates you and the wind brings you headaches. Honour the spiritual protection that in life liked flowers, by placing flowers before it. Keep firm the work and the oath made to Obaluaê, which already bar three enemies. When a child of this Ifá dies, the saraô of eko is prepared for nine days.
⚠ Cautions
This Odu signals death by accident, so redouble your care on the roads. Do not quarrel with the elders nor answer envy with envy, for the enemy's curse turns back against themselves. Guard yourself from a woman who is your worst adversary. Do not let yourself be carried away by disillusionment nor by the wish to do harm to those who are near.
This Odu describes tendencies and possible paths to work on — not a fixed destiny or a guaranteed prediction.

Ofun Owonrin belongs to the full corpus of the 256 Odus of Ifá, a body of oral and written wisdom spanning centuries across the African diaspora and the Americas. Understanding this Odu means placing energies, archetypes, and sacred narratives in relation to the opele, divination, and a life practice guided by balance. Irê, Osogbo, and reading Ofun Owonrin
In any Odù, Irê points to blessings and positive affinities; Osogbo highlights challenges and adjustments. Reading this Odu invites integrated reflection on relationships, work, emotional health, and purpose. Ifá asks for patience, right speech, and—when prescribed by an initiated priest—ebo and disciplines of conduct.
When you use the Ifá oracle with artificial intelligence on this platform, you receive a philosophical and educational interpretation: a learning bridge, not a priestly ritual. Keep that distinction to honour the tradition and the role of Babalawos and Iyanifas.
